Dua Lipa took her love for Y2K fashion and kicked it up a notch during her “Future Nostalgia” tour. Giving us major déjà vu, Lipa posed backstage in a Blumarine denim maxi dress, evoking Britney Spears’s iconic Kurt and Bart patchwork dress from the 2001 American Music Awards red carpet. While Spears’s outfit was styled to match Justin Timberlake’s all-denim suit and cowboy hat, Lipa owned the look all by herself, striking a series of poses for photographer Elizabeth Miranda.

Unlike Spears’s dress, Lipa’s featured a thin pair of spaghetti straps and a low-cut bustier embellished with metallic studs under the cups. The studs trailed down Lipa’s dress in parallel lines along the seams, splitting into inverted V shapes before plunging into the folds of her sweeping train.

Who says high fashion can’t work for a Halloween costume? Just take a cue from Hailey Bieber, who stepped out Sunday night for a Halloween party at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood. Clad in a vampy Versace getup, the 25-year-old model arrived hand in hand with her husband, Justin Bieber, who put his affinity for “Sesame Street” on full display by showing up dressed in a bright-blue Cookie Monster costume.

Bieber’s bold Versace look consisted of a black harness bra that featured intricate cutouts at the front and a matching black miniskirt. It’s not often that a French film comes along as moving as the romantic drama En Attendant Bojangles (2022), or “Waiting For Bojangles” in English, directed by Régis Roinsard.

As a longtime fan of French movies and 1960s culture, I couldn’t wait to see this film. 

This film was adapted from the French best-selling novel of the same name, written by first-time author Olivier Bourdeaut, and released in 2016. The book was an instant hit with the French, and I saw it recommended on several occasions since I moved to France in 2019. 

During my Christmas vacation this past December, I finally had the chance to read the book and quickly understood why so many people fell in love with the protagonists.
