This NEWBELLA thick-sole boots review covers sizing, the material, thermal and wearing comfort, price value, and versality to style.
Disclosure: Ad. The boots are a sample of my choice from NEWBELLA. The post is not endorsed by them. I wrote it entirely myself and it represents my own 100% honest opinion.
What Intrigued Me to Try the Knight Thick-Sole Boots from NEWBELLA?
I love winter walks in the snowy Alaska taiga. Due to the typically far below freezing temperatures of the snow- and ice-covered ground knee boots with a thick and grippy sole are important for insulation and safety. Furthermore, the toe box must be wide to be able to wear an extra pair of wool socks. Squeezed toes are a recipe for cold feet.
The photo and description of the NEWBELLA Knight Thick-Sole Boots suggested that these boots could meet these criteria. I also liked the British Style, the chunky shape of the 1.69 inches (4.3 cm) heels. Therefore, I ordered the boots in green in US size 7.5 (EU 38). Note they also come in fashionable white.
What Surprise Me When I Opened the Package
The upper material is 100% polyurethane (PU) leather, i.e. human-made, and, hence, vegan. Nevertheless, it looks like genuine leather, i.e. more expensive than their actual price tag. Inside the boots is a lining and an insole for extra insulation to keep your feet warm.
The circumferences of the upper, middle and lower part of the boots are 14.17, 13.58, and 10.24 inches wide (36, 34.5 and 26 cm). I was astonished how easily I could pull them on. They are true to the shoe size, and reach just below the knee on my 5 fts 4 inches (1.64 m) frame (see photo). Despite of the wide toe box, the boots don’t feel loose even when I don’t double my socks. Perfect for cold winter weather.
Did the Knight Thick-Sole Boots Meet my Expectations?
The first time I wore these beauties was an one hour walk of 3.2 miles (5.15 km) at -7F (-21.7C). Guess, what? My feet stayed warm and comfortable. Moreover, I did not get a blister!
I like the grip of the sole. No skidding when crossing an icy road!
The NEWBELLA Knight Thick-Sole knee boots also met my expectation that they are very versatile to style (cf. photos).
Price-Performance Ratio
Currently, they are on sale for $99 (instead of $129). However, even when not on sale they are worth more than their price. Given my winter-walk activity, and the length of the winter in the Interior of Alaska, the cost-per-wear will be below $1 before breakup.
If I had paid for them, I wouldn’t regret the purchase. Therefore, I have no reservations to recommend these boots to my family and friends.
Who Will like these Boots?
Chunky thick sole boots are a big trend right now. Therefore, every fashionista who wants to jump the bandwagon will like these fashionable British Classic inspired boots. Furthermore, because they are water-proof these boots are a great for everyone who lives in a rainy winter climate region. These NEWBELLA Knight Thick-Sole boots are a comfortable, warm, and more stylish alternative to old school rubber boots because of their insole and lining for thermal comfort.
