Shiseido Travel Retail is ushering in “a new golden age of luxury travel retail” as it opens six new boutiques at the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex

CHINA. Shiseido Travel Retail has partnered with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to unveil six new boutiques at the magnificent cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Hainan, China.

The boutiques were designed to showcase Shiseido Travel Retail’s powerful portfolio of brands, its Omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) spirit and its ‘Beauty Innovations for a Better World’ mission.

Underpinned by personalisation, the stores offer distinctive design concepts, exclusive offers and beauty tech innovations. The new boutiques are for the Shiseido, Clé de Peau Beauté, The Ginza, IPSA, Elixir and Nars brands.

Mango has opened its first standalone shop in Newcastle as part of its ongoing UK expansion plans.

The store in the Eldon Square shopping center complements its concession in the Fenwick department store in the city.

With a selling space of more than 400 square meters, the shop stocks the fashion retailer’s womenswear lines.

Daniel López, Mango’s global expansion director, said: “The opening of our first store in Newcastle is a step further in our strategic goals for international expansion and strengthens our presence in the United Kingdom, a strategic market for Mango and one of the most important for the fashion world.”

The store features the retailer’s new Mediterranean-inspired store concept called New Med, which is already used in some of its flagship stores around the world and has a strong focus on sustainability.

On Nov. 22, the Rhode founder shared photos from the festivities in Tokyo on Instagram, offering a look at the various trendy outfits she wore to celebrate. She’s currently on vacation in Japan alongside Justin Bieber, as well as friends including Kendall Jenner, Justine Skye, and Ryan Goode.

For an outing during the day at what looks to be a museum, the birthday girl wore a low-rise micro miniskirt that was essentially a strip of denim. Top Albert Park fashion destination Filly’s Stable has dropped the “Filly’s”, rebranded as Stable and received a bold but approachable refurb. “It’s a bit more relaxed,” founder Lauren Nicolls tells Broadsheet. “[Customers] can shop and play with the jewelery in a non-precious environment.”

Nicolls opened the clothing and accessories boutique in 2008 while still working as an international fashion buyer, which she’s done for two decades.

The shiny new fit-out was guided by Fitzroy North-based interior-design firm Studio Manifold, which transformed the Bridport Street space. The open-plan studio now has gold finishes, baby blue walls, and vibrant pieces by local and European designers. You might find eclectic dresses by Spanish slow-fashion label Celia B, elegant staple pieces from luxury brand Self Portrait, or vintage-inspired collections by Rixo London. Footwear by British label JW Anderson has also proven popular.

As the World’s population is increasing at an unpreceded pace, advancement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) is critical to ensure food, water, clothing, access to medical treatment, quality of life, and adequate housing for everyone. Unfortunately, too few young (wo)men choose a STEM field in college. In my opinion, the reason is a lack of sufficient early exposure to these fields. Here, I provide ideas from own and my former students’ common experiences. We all have been inspired for our field in childhood by adults. Best, the majority of them weren’t STEM teachers and weren’t in this field.
